What is a Computer?

 

A computer is a dumb machine and it is an  electronic device which is capable of :

  • Receiving the data 
  • Producing the output
  • Storing the information 
  • Processing the data on the basis of given set of instructions.

 It is  the made up of hardware and software components.





Hardware Components:

 

CPU (Central Processing Unit):

 The brain of the computer that executes instructions.

Memory (RAM): 

Temporary storage for data and applications.

Storage Drive:

 Long-term storage for data and programs.

 Input Devices:

Keyboard, mouse, and other devices to interact with the computer.

 Output Devices:

 Monitor, speakers, and other devices to display and play output.

 

Software Components:

 

 Operating System: Manages hardware and software resources (e.g., Windows, macOS).

 Applications: Programs that perform specific tasks (e.g., word processing, gaming).

 Utility Software: Programs that manage and maintain the computer (e.g., antivirus, backup software).

 

How  does its  Work:

 

1. Input: User inputs data or instructions through input devices.

2. Processing: CPU executes instructions and performs calculations.

3. Storage: Data is stored in memory or on the storage drive.

4. Output: Results are displayed on output devices.

 
Types of Computers:

 

 Desktop: Personal computers for individual use.

 Laptop: Portable computers for mobile use.

Server: Powerful computers for network management and data storage.

Mainframe: Large computers for enterprise-level processing and data management.

 
Why we needs computer ?

As an easier resource to  things such as communications. through all types of  communication (via internet) we can advertise sell, chat, phone call, location to location and many other things.
